1st Set...Glenn opened with the Ibanez (which is unusual) and did a nice little Motor City to start, which gave me hope for the set, but alas, after that, the set mostly featured Glenn in his preaching mode...wait for it....

2nd Set...This was cool...I was snuggled up in my usual spot and Glenn Opened with a great Stepping in to the Sunlight, the second song I didn't know, but about a minute or two into what was shaping up to a terrific number...someone lit up a cigarette in the bar Glenn stopped mid-riff and chastised the patron who had lit it. I became very frustrated with this, because I thought he was going back into "preacher-mode" so without even thinking I slammed my whiskey down in disgust and began to walk out the front door to grab a smoke myself about half way toward the door Glenn stopped me and said "Where are going?" I ain't done yet" "I'm starting this one over" I immediately turned around and headed back toward my spot and from that moment on this show took off like the maiden voyage of Apollo.........He started crunching mind numbing leads until the set ended around Midnight...wait for it.......

In between set gossip had several Glenn's insiders relating to me that Glenn had been approached during the previous week by members of the Rock and Roll hall of fame for his induction, Glenn basically told them to "get lost"....what did they expect?

3rd Set...Everyone still remaining was giddy with anticipation as Glenn had become fully animated toward the end of the previous set...I requested during his tuning that he revisit "My Poor Generation" from last week and he delivered a full "Johnny Cash" version of this wonderful wonderful song. My heart exploded somewhere in the middle of this number and the songs that followed were all played to a level that had me wondering if he was human...but still there was more........

The Sun, The Moon and The Stars all lined up for his closing number... I do not know the name of it (I need help with this TZ , Laz the subject matter was the Apostle Paul?) It had the standard blues structure verse then a lead a verse then a lead...etc...but it was anything but standard, I didn't know the guitar could go where he took it next. When you think you have seen it all, this guy puts more into it then you dreamed possible. The number lasted a good 25-30 minutes and he did no less then 8 solos, each one eclipsing the previous in scope and magnitude to the point where I thought my head was going to explode, by the third solo I was fully awashed in tears with no end in sight. After the sixth or seventh venture into this remarkable piece of music, my legs were rubber and I realized I had my arms raised to the heavens for the last 6 or 7 minutes, By the final solo, Major Hopples was completely aghast as we watched this man triumphantly go to places no other mortal has traveled......Bliss wrapped in Happiness with a cherry on top......The greatest soloing I have ever heard........Eclipsing even the finest moments of Jerry Garcia and Jimi Hendrix (I never thought I would say that, but there it is..I said it and its the truth as sure as the sun rises and sets everyday)

Please Come.................

Thanks Glenn.........
