Glenn Schwartz testimonial #1

When I was in high school I went over my friend Ronnie's house and she showed me her record collection. Besides a great number of Spike Jones records she showed me her collection of early Christian Rock. Tucked in there was Brainwashed and a few others by the All Saved Freak Band. She told me that the guitarist on there was the greatest guitarist hands down. I never listened to them because I thought all Christian Rock sounded like Petra or Phil Keaggy. Boy was I wrong!
Fast forward 25 years later and my cousin tells me that the greatest guitarist of all time plays every Thursday at Major Hooples in Cleveland's flats. Having missed seeing Robert Lockwood junior I vowed never to miss a great local guitarist again. I had to see him. It turned out to be the same guy from the records.
Wow, was I moved! I've seen some great guitarists; Dick Dale, John Lee Hooker, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan to name a few. I've got to say Glenn's performance blew them all away! I could see he put 110% in every song. It was great that I could stand a foot away at eye level with him. He interacted with the audience. His hands moved all over that guitar. When he preached, he would play these soft riffs that never registered on the mics. You had to be right there to hear them and they were amazing! When he played it blew me away! His body surged with the energy of experience. It was as if an electrical current came down from God and charged his body. He played like a man possessed, which he was. He was channeling the word of God right there! I've seen him a dozen or so times since and have NEVER been disappointed. Who alse can I say that about?
I am not a religious man, far from it actually. I swear the power of God is there when his hands meet the strings.
No, I don't agree with everything Glenn preaches. His preaching can be a little harsh for some, especially women. I look at it as a result of his life experiences and key people on his journey. I'm sure there are things that Hendrix or Son House would've said that I'd disagree with too. Sometimes I enjoy the preaching, even when I disagree. Glenn gives everything he has in every performance-for tips. What an Icon! Glenn says he is nothing, a worm. If that's the case the rest of the world is less than nothing.
Everybody who enjoys music owes it to themselves to go see Glenn. If he says something you don't like just let him go, don't argue. Just put your head down and wait. Soon the fabulous riffs will be flying, courtesy of God through Glenn. Don't miss out on this! You'll regret it if you miss it. THANK GOD FOR GLENN SCHWARTZ!
